The International Court of Justice is holding hearings on whether Israel must allow humanitarian aid into Gaza. Since March 2, 2025, Israel has imposed a full blockade. The UN reports 92% of Gaza’s population faces severe food insecurity. Israel declined to participate in the hearings.

Mediators in Cairo report major progress in ceasefire talks between Israel and Hamas. Hamas is open to a long-term truce and hostage release. Israel demands immediate hostage return. Over 52,000 Palestinians have died since the conflict began in October 2023.

Israel has intensified strikes in Gaza, causing more civilian deaths. Hamas accuses Israel of using starvation as a weapon. UN agencies warn of extreme child hunger and looming famine.
